Introduction: To evaluate the effects of soil amendments (biofertilizer, green manure, farm yard manure and chemical fertilizers) on yield of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), cultivar Mansour, an experiment was conducted in 2019-2020 in research farm of Shahed University.
Results and Discussion: The results showed that animal manure increased the number of nodules by 43.6%, the dry weight of nodules by 33.8% and the plant height by 19.97% compared to the use of chemical fertilizers. the amendment interaction effect of biofertilizer application on 100-seed weight and harvest index was significant and on other characteristics was not significant. The highest 100-grain weight was observed in the application of green manure and farm yard manure with irrigation of biofertilizer (respectively with an average of 74.83 g) and the use of farm yard manure with combined use of biofertilizer (irrigation + spray application) with an average of 77 g. Also, farm yard manure consumption along with biofertilizer irrigation led to the production of the highest harvest index with an average of 40.33%.
Conclusion: So it can be concluded that the application of this type of biofertilizer in different methods is not applicable. In general, the use of organic fertilizer sources such as farm yard manure and green manure in comparison with chemical fertilizers in increasing growth and yield characteristics was favorable in this study.
